Webinar - Viral hepatitis and oral health
Join us for a 1 hour webinar looking at viral hepatitis and considerations for treatment and care for these patients.

 
This webinar will provide an overview of viral hepatitis in the context of oral health and explore the recent updates and changes around epidemiology, and treatments available in Australia. Information will be provided regarding considerations in providing care to a patient with viral hepatitis, or liver health concerns.

Learning objectives
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the transmission routes of viral hepatitis and understand the associated risk factors in an oral health environment
  • Describe briefly the management and treatment for a patient with hepatitis B or hepatitis C
  • Describe the disclosure and patient privacy considerations as they relate to stigma and discrimination
  • Communicate confidently with patients about viral hepatitis and their care in your practice

 

Our speaker: Lana Richardson

Lana Richardson has been working across the blood borne virus, and alcohol and other drug sectors across Queensland and the Northern Territory in a range of roles, for the past 15 years. Lana is currently employed as a Project Officer at Hepatitis Queensland and has been with HQ for 8 years. She has a passion for delivering education and awareness projects to the workforce as well as the community and finds a way to effectively communicate to both groups. Some of her recent accomplishments include producing Dancing in the Rain, a short film for the African community exploring the complexities of hepatitis B, and extensive resource production to support Queensland Corrective Services and those people impacted by hepatitis C in a correctional environment.

Non members: registration is available for non members at a cost of $20 per attendee.
